This initial launch is for the digital version, but publisher Devolver Digital has announced the PS5 and Switch versions of the highly anticipated adventure game will get physical releases on February 21, 2025. Amazon and Best Buy have opened preorders for The Plucky Squire, including a special Devolver Deluxe Edition that comes with an art book, soundtrack, and collector’s box.

The Plucky Squire melds hand-drawn 2D and colorful 3D graphics as Jot ventures forth on his adventure outside and inside of the book. It’s an ambitious debut game from indie studio All Possible Futures. The studio was co-founded by ex-Pokemon art director James Turner, and Jonathan Biddle, who served as creative director on another hand-drawn Zelda-like indie, The Swords of Ditto.
